Stayca-Vaca: Laguna Beach Style

Sometimes a girls got to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, especially LA life, so when my friend invited me down for a staycation to Laguna Beach, how could I pass that up.

Driving down there, of course I had to play and sing a long to Hillary Duff's "Coming Clean" cue up.. "let the rain fall down...I'm coming clean" I mean would it truly be a Laguna Beach drive if you didn't throw it back to those days of Kristen, Lo, and Stephen?

I haven't been down there in years and I forgot how FABULOUS it is! We stayed at the 5 star hotel, Sand and Surf Resort and had an amazing ocean view room, champagne, delicious food (definitely need to diet after everything I ate- but hey it was stayca-vaca), champagne, some relaxing time with good friends, oh and did I mention champagne?

Check out a dope little slideshow I made below:
Try not to get to drool over of how gorgeous it is down by the beach, especially at sunset. I must say, I could get use to waking up by the water everyday.

And yes THAT song is playing in the background, mine as well just put the graduation song on, but hey, its ok to be cliche every now and then!

Food-goddess Review: Jean- Georges at the Waldorf Astoria

The Waldorf Astoria has finally arrived in Beverly Hills! Situated right on the edge of Century City with the Peninsula almost across the street and the Beverly Hilton right next door. I decided to check out Jean-Georges restaurant inside the Waldorf for my birthday back in June as I love hotel restaurants and bars, but I must admit, I wasn't that impressed. Now, it had been open just under a week when I was there so things could have changed, but for being a world renowned restaurant I expected much more!

Dining Room Vibe
I went out about 7pm and it was a bit of an older crowd, as most of us 20-30 year olds, would be upstairs at the rooftop bar. However, it was very elegant.
Tuna TarTar & Mojito
The TunaTar & Mojito were delicious
Black Cod
The black cod was a bit bland
Chocolate Soufflé
My Birthday souffle was melt in your mouth amazing

Overall, I would give it about 3.5 stars, but I will be back to check out the rooftop! I have been to the Waldorf in New York as I used to live in NY, however, it is currently under renovation and would love to see how it compares to the one in LA, once complete.

On another note, LA is trying very hard to be New York. With the addition of the Waldorf Astoria, the opening of Tao, Beauty & Essex, and the Dream Hotel - I will get to that in another post, so stay tuned. They are also really building up the Century City area with the 800 million dollar renovation of the Century City Mall and the new luxury condos with robots at Ten Thousand.

Stay tuned for more!
