90th OSCARS 2018: Fashion Break Down!

SO, lets talk about the most important part of the 90th Oscars / Academy Awards ceremony...the red carpet...duh!

I hate to admit it, but I've seen none of the movies nominated and none of them really strike my interest anyway- so obv after the red carpet show I was off to the Clippers game. You know what they say..."Get a girl that can do both"

Out of all the award shows (Golden Globes, SAG, and Grammy's) the stars definitely brought their A game to the Oscar red carpet...finally. Mind you, that's not to say there wasn't a few tragic pieces but definitely a lot less than any other award show this year. SO, lets break it down...

SLAY

Left to Right: Emily Blunt in Schiaparelli couture dress Gal Gadot in Givenchy with Tiffany & Co Necklace Margot Robbie in custom Chanel (um Chanel like never does custom so this is even more amaze) Mirai Nagusa in Tadashi Shoji

From Left to Right: Greta Gerwig in Rodarte Molly Sims in custom gown Samara Weaving in Schiaparelli Jane Fonda in Balmain - and of course her "me too" pin *eye roll*

WHAT DO YOU THINK

From Left To Right: Gina  Rodriguez in Zuhair Murad - cut off the sides and then we're talking Alison Janney in custom Reem Acra- I love the dress, but that red clutch makes it just to much red Zoey Deutch in archival Elie Saab gown - the color just does not work for her, and the straps should have been skinnier Nicole Kidman in Armani Prive - this dress is stunning, just not on her Salma Hayek in Gucci - Just because it's Gucci doesn't make it an automatically best dressed - thanks for clearing that up

BRINGING SEXY BACK 

In a good way (minus Patrisse Cullors) - warning here comes the political statement - don't wear sexy dresses and then say oh "me too"

From Left to Right: Blanca Blanco in Atria Couture- if you got it flaunt it! Do your thing girl (shout out to you for wearing a red dress at the Golden Globes) Taraji P. Henson in custom Alberta Ferretti- she had a nipplegate while presenting - but she killed it so who cares Patrisse Cullors- ok so your boobs are hanging out, but you are wearing a "times up" pin...uh ok?

TRAGIC

From Left to Right: Whoopi Goldberg in Christian Siriano- I think someone threw up flowers on her dress (I would to if I watched the View) - this is even more sad as I LOVE Christian Siriano dresses usually Phoebe Waller- Bridge in Vionnet- this dress washes her out and the polka dots just make it look cheap. Maya Rudolph in Valentino - did Nuns get a makeover and are now wear red? Beanie Feldstein in Sachin & Babi Ahluwalia - clearly didn't get the memo that this is the Oscars not prom

From Left to Right: Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton - To much silk, color blocking goes wrong, why is there a random pink bow?  Haley Bennett in Dior - where did she pick all that grass from? go put it back!  Lindsay Vonn in Jeff Kim- and just like all her ski accidents, Kim was forced to cut off the sleeves due to wardrobe malfunction - I think she is the definition of bad luck. St Vincent in Saint Laurent- did she forget the pack of pigeons she flew into the Oscars with?

SEQUIN TRAGEDY

From Left to Right: Jennifer Lawrence in Dior - the dress is to heavy, would have been nicer if it was tighter Lupita N'yongo in Versace - after killing it in purple Versace at the Black Panther Premiere this dress is just a bit extra (even for the Oscars) Sally Hawkins in Armani Prive- this is what you wear when you are nominated for best actress...UM NO! Sandra Bullock in Louis Vuitton- Asia meets wedding table cloth

PLAYED IT SAFE

Still stunning though - minus Meryl Streep (ugh)

Sophia Carson- Oscar red, Oscar Safe, Oscar trying to hard Zendaya in Giambattista Valli- I'm obsessed with Valli's dresses, but I think she could have spiced it up a bit Meryl Streep in Dior- I mean she always wears the same thing, so over her

2018 Grammy's Red Carpet: MUST SEE FASHION

SO award season is officially in full force...let's take a look and see if music's biggest night had more fashion upsets (like the SAG awards) or schooled the actors & actresses. Personally, some of these artists the white rose they were carrying looked better than them (Sarah Silverman, Kelly Clarkson, Pink..and many more will get to).

BUT FIRST...let's just take note the amazingness of music royalty...Queen Bey, Jay-Z, and Blue Ivy (OBV) - and check out when Blue told her parents to stop clapping here! Clearly we know who reigns the most; and she already got that RBF down. All hail the Queens!

OH and Lil Uzi Vert's interview with Guiliana Rancic, he seems so EXCITED about his nomination - sike. He needs to cut back on that lean. Check it! While we're at it... 

...how bout we check out the rappers on the red carpet. Some bossed up like the OG Rick Ross, then some went a bit to wild (literally).

OK -  I don't want to bore you but lets take a look at the top MUST SEE fashion moments (the good & the bad)

TRAGIC

From Left to Right: Sarah Silverman: I mean, is this a joke? If so, I don't get it. Joy Villa: I didn't know "color me mine" now has dresses to paint Pink: Pink is now the name of a new species of birds. Kelly Clarkson: Medieval times wants their costumes back, replace the rose with a chicken wing. Kesha: Why is she dressed for the rodeo, don't worry you won't get harassed in this outfit.

TO NOTE

From Left to Right: Rita Ora: SEXY SEXY SEXY Bebe Rhexa: yaass girl Lana Del Ray: loving the angelic Gucci vibes Heidi Klum: You are to old for that dress, maybe tie your hair up? Miley Cyrus: Congrats on looking 4 days sober and not having your tongue out.

Overall, the Oscar carpet should be ... well quite interesting. Hopefully everyone steps their game up and focus on fashion instead of what is politically correct. The award season is a time of celebration, not a charity or democratic national convention...Hollywood needs to CHILLLL out and let loose!

2018 SAG Awards: SLAY, MEH, TRAGIC

So,  I think the NY post headline said it best, "Color is back at the SAG Awards". HOWEVER, on about 90% of the red carpet, the "colored dresses" were absolutely tragic. Hollywood and their stylists I think forgot how to rock florals, sequins, and well...color. 

Sequin details were def a reoccurring trend, it looks like fairy dust was just thrown on all the dresses (guess they were out of flour).

Maybe these celebs were trying to take away from James Franco's attendance, Nicole Kidman's engagement, and John Stamos's wife pregnancy announcement. BUT, a new fangirl friendship happened - Hi Millie Bobbie Brown & Dakota Fanning!!

I love Millie Bobbie Brown, from her style (she's the only one that can pull off converse on the red carpet), her personality, her fangirling with Drake and Dakota Fanning, and her AMAZING talent.

If you follow my insta (sare_uh), you will see a couple of my opinions ... but now, it's time for the full low down.

I'm going to start with the TRAGIC as I just have so much funny commentary (if I may say so myself). I could honestly add 5 more people to the tragic list, but I don't want to give you to much of an eye sore.

TRAGIC

They're are so many tragic dresses I don't even know where to begin. Let's just process this for a moment:

Top Row: Left to Right Susan Sarondon- I have 3 questions for you: 1. Why are you wearing sunglasses? 2. Did you forget to tailor your dress? 3. Did you roll out of bed hungover? Kate Nash- Karen Grassle called, she wants her dress from Little House on the Prairie back. Sally Hawkins- Does anyone have an dvil? I'm getting dizzy just looking at this jumpsuit Kate Hudson- Valentines Day isn't till Feb 14th, and I highly recommend laying that dress to rest before someone lays you. Bottom Row: Left to Right Greta Gerwig- Your dress looks like someone got sick eating candy buttons all over your dress (ps who remembers candy buttons when they were little?) Laura Linney-  You took hiding behind the curtains a bit to literally  Molly Sims- As my mother would say, you look like a "rag a muffin"- dress your age and stop trying to make polka dots happen Gina Rodriguez- "Times up" for that dress, sorry not sorry

SLAY

TBH the under 18 actresses KILLED IT on another level. They need to be teaching the older generation how to slay on the red carpet.

From Left to Right Mandy Moore in Ralph Lauren - Played WAY to safe Felicity Huffman - stunning dress but you are just a tad to OLD for it, dress your age Margo Robbie in Miu Miu: I know everyone LOVES this dress, but those feathers under the bust need to be returned to the bird it came from. Please relay that to Mary J Blige as well.
