NYFW: Streetstyle (Fall 18 RTW) - UPDATE

SO, as NYFW begins; the changes - Bottega moving it's show to NY, collections being available right away- of the once glamorized week shifts focus on to the style outside the shows.

As what the "influencers", editors, and bloggers are wearing to the shows are becoming more of the focus of fashion week rather than the actual shows; unless its something out of this world, literally, like Phillipp Plein's runway show.

Honestly, I'm not that impressed with the outfits on the streets from Day 1- 3. However, Day 4 has brought rain and in turn some of the best outfits. Half the time these influencers are throwing on ugly items and putting it together and calling it "fashion". As Caroline Herrara says, right as she announces she is stepping down from the brand...

Some of the major trends OUTSIDE the show is:

  • Plaid, Plaid and more Plaid
  • Trench Coats
  • Colors: Yellow, Red, Pale Pink
  • Metallic booties

Checkout the GIF's of ones I'm loving below:

Beyonce and Jay-Z are basically Hollywood royalty, (sorry Kardashian Fam) yes they have their moments aka Becky With the Good hair- but doesn't every family!

I can't wait to see how stlyish the new born twins, Rumi and Sir, will be! Talk about real twinning (x2).

Collab: Fear of God x Vans :: Styled 2 Different Ways!

It seems as if many brands are now collaborating an forming this "hype" (hypebeast) or a group of street stylers. The biggest one this year was definitely the Louis Vuitton x Supreme. Some others were; obviously, Fear of God x Vans, Off White x Nike, Guess x A$AP Rocky, Alexander Wang x Adidas. Trying to cop these exclusive collaboration require either waiting in lines that are miles long, paying resale (which could be 200% up sell) or having a "plug".  Drive down Fairfax and there is ALWAYS a line at the Supreme store, BAPE is going up on Melrose and I'm sure the line will look quite similar. The limited edition and hard to get your hands on items, make it that much more exclusive. I know some of you are thinking "why hasn't she mentioned YEEZY's?" as I believe Kanye's Yeezy's made way for these collabs- but don't worry, I'll get to that in another post.

I was able to get my hands on the Fear of God x Vans shoes, which I love, and am very excited for the second Fear of God x Van's that is coming out in December (as Jerry Lorenzo - the designer of Fear of God) has confirmed and even has put some teaser pics on the brands instagram. I am a size 6 in women's shoes, and much like the Yeezy's they only come in mens sizes, so I am a mens size 5 - which makes it even harder.

Anyway, I have styled them 2 diff ways. One for a casual day at work or chill vibe for the weekend. The second is inspired by Kylie Jenner, that she wore out to a club in Miami.  You will see that I also have a Goyard Bag- which I have had for 3 years, but now EVERYONE has it, and is now part of the street style hype look. They even just opened a store on Rodeo, which is by appointment only!

Also, when buying these collaborations, you must be very careful, as even on EBAY there are a lot of fakes out there! And yes, even if they show the receipt - trust me it has happened to me.

I use the GOAT app, they verify before sending, check them out here.
