The "75th Annual Golden Globes" aka a...
...Celebrity fueled charity event to raise awareness for the current state (sexual assault/harassment, gender inequality etc.) of the entertainment industry.
SO, I'm gonna try and leave my political views out of this post.
1. Wearing black dresses (and tuxes) as a sign of unity.
- “Black has always had really complicated and multifaceted meanings,” says Valerie Steele, director of the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology and author of “The Black Dress.”. “It’s a very powerful color.” - read the full article here
- My opinion: a lot of these dresses were very risque and basically asking for it, they should have worn nun outfits and called it a night. Again, it is Hollywood. (see below)
For example: Kate Hudson & Catherine Zeta- Jones
Hudson in Valentino Haute Couture (Hudson would be on my worst dress list), Zeta-Jones in Zuhair Murad Couture (don't get me wrong I LOVE Zeta-Jones dress. Def in my top 5... |
3. Men (and some women) wearing the political accessory; "times up" pins. It's a similar ideology to "MeTOO" and "AskHerMore"
- find out more about the pins here
- read about the "AskHerMore" campaign here - basically, some believe that the red carpet interviews should not just be about what the person is wearing.

NOW back to fashion- some were able to achieve a stunning black dress/ best dressed look, well others definitely struggled. Check out my TOP 5 in each category!
